Company to provide ICANN with colocation services for Global root domain name system. , a provider of IT infrastructure services, today announced that the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers has selected them to house its second instance of the Global L-Root server cluster at their flagship facility. The company states that ICANN is responsible for the global coordination of the Internet's system of unique identifiers like domain names and the addresses used in a variety of Internet protocols that help computers connect to each other over the Internet.
The company declared that it will provide ICANN with colocation services. It further claims that as a result, ICANN will be able to enhance global access to the L-Root servers, while also enhancing its ability to mitigate distributed denial-of-service attacks on the core of the Internet.
