How to delete, modify or renew a domain name ?

Delete

To remove a domain name an its corresponding record from the Domain Name System, so that it cannot be located anymore on the Internet. This can be done on request of the Registrant or will be done automatically by the Registrar if the Registrant did not renew the Domain Name at the end of the registration period.

Modify

To change or to update an existing domain name record. This can affect:

- The contact information

- Registrant details

- Name server etc...

Renewals

As you can only register your domain name for a certain period (generally from 1 to maximum 10 years), you will have to renew it at the end of this period. Most domain name providers will send an e-mail to the billing contact which will have 30 days to renew the registration. If this person doesn’t renew it, the name is held as registered for a grace period of 30 days. This period can vary for the different extensions. Only after this period, the name can be made available for registration to interested parties!
